Etching with Viscosity Roll, 24" x 18"

Samuel Riddy (b. London, 2005) is a contemporary artist working in drawing and printmaking, currently studying at the Glasgow School of Art. Riddy’s practice interrogates the physically invasive nature of chronic illness through intricate figurative compositions, often fractured by found imagery and corrosive disruptions of the etching process. How Western society treats illness and disability through technology is also a central theme, which feeds into wider contemporary discussions around transhumanism and biopolitics.
