Maria Granadino is a visual artist whose work is distinguished by its abstract and geometric approach, spanning biomorphic shapes and the fluidity of modernist art. Born in Sweden and shaped by a life lived across various countries, she remains deeply rooted in her Indigenous and Afro-Caribbean heritage, which subtly informs her artistic vision. Drawing from diverse sources such as everyday experiences in nature, Neolithic art, Pre-Columbian Mesoamerican aesthetics, and metaphysics, her work blends the organic with the structured, the ancient with the modern.

A graduate of Regent’s University London with a B.A. (Hons) in Art and Film, Granadino has also pursued advanced studies in art history and aesthetics. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including in the United Kingdom, the United States, South Korea, and Italy. Granadino’s art meditates on themes of fragmentation, the subconscious, and the delicate balance between humanity and nature. Through warm earthy tones and abstract forms, she explores contrasts—hard and soft, masculine and feminine—creating a dynamic interplay that evokes mystery and invites contemplation of our connection to the natural world. The love_hyphen_ artwork was inspired by poetry, in particular the love poems of Pablo Neruda, interpreted from a minimalist perspective.
