"Coming from a background in digital design, I use painting as a way to return to a slower, more grounded method of witnessing people and their stories. My practice is rooted in nostalgia and honoring the overlooked narratives of Black, queer communities through portraiture that emphasizes visibility and belonging. Working primarily in acrylics and oils, I choose colors intuitively to evoke specific feelings, creating images that acknowledge our current reality while reaching for something more gentle, human, and deeply present."
