From the artist: "In my creations, I seek beauty in the unconventional and love in the unloved. I am drawn to the bizarre and surreal, exploring the odd spaces between pain and pleasure, passion and hunger, horror and delight. Through my art, I build a world where femininity, queerness, desire, and consumption manifest in the grotesque and the beautiful. I often engage with how female bodies—especially queer women of color and Asian American women—exhibit the weight of repression: where do we carry our rage, our yearning, and all the things we are taught to swallow?
Inspired by Rachel Yoder’s novel “Nightbitch,” this illustration is a display of raw feral femininity. In this metamorphosis, women transform into creatures that are both woman and monster, an act of both horror and delight. The transformation becomes a symbol for the internal rage and desires women hold deep and hidden within their identity."
